| Product Description |
The 40-789 Configurable 36 Input Microwave MUX
is a high performance microwave switching system
designed to solve the problem of sequentially testing
many examples of a RF product to extract data on
performance variation with time or temperature.
The 40-789 can be configured as 36 way multiplexer
that allows the RF outputs from 36 devices to be routed
to a single piece of test equipment connected to any
one of two RF output connectors. The configurable
MUX allows any bank of six inputs to be connected
to any one the two outputs, allowing the system to be
configured as differently sized multiplexers. This allows
the MUX to be configured as a dual 18 MUX, a 12 and
24 way MUX or a 6 and 30 way MUX
Careful attention to the design of the system ensures
that the path loss for each route through the multiplexer
system is the same, allowing users to extract valuable
information about device to device variation and
changes in levels of RF signals with temperature.
The system is ideal for the bulk testing of mobile RF
devices, such as LAN’s and mobile radios, but has
many other applications in RF and microwave systems.
The dual outputs allow the devices under test to be
connected in turn to separate items of test equipment
performing different test functions, such as a radio link
and LAN, or simply to speed the test process by testing
two devices at the same time.
