September 17, 2018 – Clacton-on-Sea, UK – Pickering Interfaces, a leading provider of modular signal switching and simulation products for electronic test and verification, will exhibit at Automotive Testing Expo, 2018 in Novi, Michigan from 23-25 October where visitors will be able to see the biggest range of automotive testing technologies ever shown under one roof in North America.
On booth 11046, Pickering will show a range of fault insertion switching and sensor simulation products that target automotive testing applications, increasing test system effectiveness and productivity. These include:
2A PXI Fault Insertion switching modules (model 40-202), introduced this year, are available with 22 or 11 signal pair channels. These modules are primarily designed to simulate fault conditions in automotive and avionics test applications involving the reliability testing of safety-critical controllers. They are specifically designed with the capability to insert three different types of fault condition on pairs of signals between the test fixture and the equipment under test: open-circuit, short-circuit between signal pairs and short-circuit to user applied fault conditions such as power or ground.
PXI Fault Insertion switching modules designed for use with differential serial interfaces will be featured. Model 40-200 is designed for lower data rate serial interfaces such as CAN and FlexRay, while the high bandwidth differential PXI fault insertion switch model 40-201 is designed for higher data rate serial interfaces such as BroadR-Reach, AFDX, and 1000BaseT Ethernet.
Examples of Pickering’s broad and expanding range of PXI & PCI Programmable Resistance modules will also be on show. These modules offer up to 24 channels in a single PXI/PCI slot, with resistance ranges from 1Ω to 22MΩ, resolutions down to 2mΩ and accuracies as high as 0.03%. The product families range from simple resistor ladder circuits to high precision modules that can simulate RTD devices, strain gauges, and other transportation sensors.
Visitors to booth 11046 will also be able to see PXI Millivolt Thermocouple Simulator modules. Models 41-760 are available in a choice of 8, 16, 24 or 32 channels - each channel providing a low-voltage output across two connector pins capable of providing ±20mV with 0.7µV resolution, ±50mV with 1.7µV resolution and ±100mV with 3.3µV resolution, covering most thermocouple types.
In addition, Pickering will have its new model 60-106 6-slot USB/LXI Chassis on display. This chassis complements the company’s recently released 2 and 4-slot USB/LXI Modular Chassis. Its compact, full rack width, 1U form factor is ideal for space-restricted applications. These chassis feature USB and LXI Ethernet interfaces, enabling simple direct control from most personal computers. The new 6-slot Chassis supports between one and six of Pickering’s 1000+ 3U PXI modules, with possible configurations including a switching matrix of up to 3312 crosspoints or 108 channels of programmable resistor/sensor simulation. The optional built-in Scan List Sequence Stores with Triggering Capability allows for very fast switching changes without using the host CPU resources.
