Pickering Interfaces to Feature Latest PXI Switching and Sensor Simulation Modules at The PXI Show China in Xi’an and Chengdu

Pickering Interfaces, a leading provider of signal switching and simulation solutions used in electronic test and verification, will be featuring its latest PXI switching and sensor simulation modules at The PXI Show–China, which will be held in Xi’an on September 6 and in Chengdu on September 11 (www.pxishow.cn). These products include Pickering’s PXI switch, programmable resistor, thermocouple simulator, RF/Microwave and chassis products. Below are some of the products that will be highlighted at the shows. 

Millivolt Thermocouple PXI Simulator Module (model 41-760) – A low-voltage source module ideal for simulating the operation of a thermocouple and can be used for sensor emulation in ECU testing. This module supports up to 32 channels from a single-slot 3U PXI module, each with an independent output of -100mV to +100mV and a remote sense that allows for the correction of ground voltages on each channel. 

PXI Microwave Multiplexer (model 40-785B) – These MUXs are single or dual 6-channel multiplexers with relays mounted on the front panel and are suitable for switching 50Ω signals up to 50GHz. The single slot version can support up to three remotely mounted multiplexers. All options comprise LEDs to indicate channel setting, a feature widely supported in earlier rack and stack solutions. 

Serial Interface PXI Fault Insertion Module (model 40-200) – This module is designed to simulate common faults on two wire communication interfaces such as CAN Bus and FlexRay. The 40-200 allows the introduction of fault connections that include data paths open; data paths shorted together and data paths shorted to externally applied faults such as power supplies and ground. (This model is also available in PCI form/factor) 

PXI Programmable Resistor Module (model 40-294) – These programmable resistor solutions feature lower density and lower cost for simulating variable resistors. Each has 12 channel options with resolutions of 0.25 Ohm to 2 Ohm and channel counts of two or four. They have the option of eight extra SPST relays that can be used for extending the resistance range or for other switching functions within a test system. All versions use high-quality instrument grade reed relays to ensure long service life and fast setting times. All the PXI modules can be used in any PXI chassis and can be fitted to PXI hybrid slots in a PXIe chassis. They also can also be used in Pickering Interfaces’ LXI Modular chassis for users preferring control via an Ethernet port, including Pickering’s new:

2 & 4-slot USB/LXI Modular Chassis (models 60-104 & 60-105) – These chassis both offer a small, lightweight form/factor ideal for portable, benchtop and space restrictive applications. They are designed for desk or rack mounting and feature remote control via USB or LXI Ethernet. Remote control over a network enables the switching function of a test system to be located as close as possible to the target equipment. This new 4-slot Chassis supports between one and four Pickering 3U PXI modules. Possible systems include switching matrices up to 2208 crosspoints or up to 72 channels of programmable resistor/sensor simulation. 

Switch Path Manager Signal Routing Software – This signal routing software simplifies signal routing through switching systems and speeds up the development of switching system software. Switch Path Manager supports Pickering's PXI, LXI, and PCI switching modules and the interconnection between these products. Pickering will also highlight their eBIRST Switching System Test Tools. These tools, designed specifically for Pickering’s PXI, PCI or LXI products, simplify switching system fault-finding by quickly testing the system and graphically identifying the faulty relays.
