New PXI RTD simulator modules - 40-263

Cost-effective, high-accuracy PXI RTD simulator modules from Pickering Interfaces feature simple programming control.

September 17, 2018 – Clacton-on-Sea, UK – Pickering Interfaces, a leading provider of modular signal switching and simulation products for electronic test and verification, today launched its model 40-263 PXI RTD simulator module that provides a cost-effective method of simulating PT100, PT500 or PT1000 RTDs (resistance temperature detectors) with high accuracy. The unit supports 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 channels in one or two PXI slots with channels able to be set as short or open circuit to simulate faulty wiring to a sensor.

The module is available with resistance ranges of 40Ω to 900Ω for PT100 simulation, 200Ω to 4500Ω for PT500 simulation and 400Ω to 9000Ω for PT1000 simulation. All versions are suitable for simulating a temperature range of approximately -150°C to over +850°C for their given sensor type. The use of resistance value calls makes programming simple.

The 40-263 provides a convenient system for verifying channel resistance using an external DMM connected to the calibration port. This system allows cascading, so one DMM can be used to verify multiple modules. Verification can also be performed while the DUT is connected to the module.

Comments Paul Bovingdon, Simulation Product Manager at Pickering Interfaces: “The modular PXI format allows for flexibility and scalable system integration, and units are compatible with PXI, PXIe Hybrid and Pickering USB/LXI chassis. Applications include any Device Under Test that works with RTD sensors such as large ocean-going ship engines, satellites, and many others.”

Pickering Interfaces stands behind all of its manufactured products with a standard three-year warranty and guaranteed long-term product support. Pricing and availability information is supplied on the company’s website at www.pickeringtest.com.
