Optical Switching Solutions

We offer a large range of LXI Ethernet and PXI & PXIe optical switching solutions which include 1x2, 2x2, 1x4 and 1x8 configurations, and our switch modules are available with a wide choice of connectors, including FC/APC, FC/PC, SC/PC, MU (Mini SI) and LC. We offer a choice of either MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) or more traditional prism-based switches.

Optical switching suits applications in the telecommunications sector, such as signal routing of high-speed signals in a network infrastructure where minimizing signal latency and preventing errors is essential.

PXI & PXIe Optical Switches

Our PXI optical switching modules include high-performance multiplexers and insert/bypass switches. MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) switch technology offers higher performance and longer operational life compared to conventional prism-based optical switching. 

These optical PXI modules will plug into any PXI or PXIe chassis and our LXI/USB chassis.

LXI Optical Switches

Ethernet control of optical switches is an ideal solution for larger optical switch applications. Our LXI Optical Switches are fiber optic multiplexers that use MEMS switching technology to ensure fast and reliable switching of single or multi-mode optical signals being carried on fiber connections. This range also includes our scalable switches based on a 2U Ethernet-controlled modular chassis that can be configured with up to six plug-in switch modules. Each plug-in module can host optical multiplexer or matrix configurations. 

LXI is an ideal platform for supporting optical switching systems; the use of Ethernet control makes it easy to provide optical switching within the network that is easy to control via a programmatic or web-based interface.
