PXI Fault Insertion Insertion Switch Modules

Switch Modules feature a breakout arrangement that allows faults to be attached to sensor lines

  • Choice of Channel Counts and Switch Configurations
  • Solid State Relay Versions for Current Handling up to 40 Amps
  • Kernel, VISA and IVI Support For PXI Environments & Kernel and IVI Support For LXI Environments
  • Select modules are supported by our eBIRST Switching System Test Tools, these tools provide a quick and simple way of finding relay failures within LXI, PCI and PXI switch systems.

Our PXI Fault Insertion Insertion Switch Modules feature a breakout arrangement that allows faults to be attached to the sensor lines, this includes the breaking of a connection or the adding of defect – all of which can simulate connectivity problems in the system. Two switching topologies are available:
  • Single signal paths with series switches and switches to connect to one or more fault buses
  • Pairs of signals with series switches, shorting switches between the signal pairs and switches to connect either signal to an external fault input.

We also offer mating cables and connectors for these modules to ensure speedy and successful system integration.

Switch Type

EMR - Electro-Mechanical Relay, cost-effective, medium power switching. Reed - reed relays, excellent low-level switching, fast, long life. Solid-State - very fast, indefinite life, high power switching, but high leakage and insertion loss.

Max I (A)

Maximum continuous current each switch can carry.

Max V DC

The maximum voltage that may be applied to each switch.

Poles

The number of common terminals simultaneously switched by a single operation. … more

Banks

The number of independent switch topologies on a single module.

X Size

The number of matrix columns, used with Y Size to specify the size of a cross-point matrix.

Y Size

The number of matrix rows, used with X Size to specify the size of a cross-point matrix.
